So where would it be wise to spend the money? What is something you think you will use for the next several months, and even into postpartum. Here is a list of things I think are essential for making it through the next nine months, plus.
A good pair of jeans. There are so many different pregnancy jeans options. They have over the belly, under belly, side stretch, so you need to get what is most comfortable for you. If you are on the bigger side to begin with, over the belly might be a more comfortable fit, especially because baby is just going to get bigger and bigger. There are so many stores you can get pregnancy jeans from, but be aware, most brick and mortar locations do not carry maternity, you have to shop online. When looking for a pair of jeans, it is recommended you order it in your pre-pregnancy weight size.
This can really support your lower back when your stomach starts expanding. Lower back pain is very common in pregnancy due to your growing belly and weight. This band helps support your stomach and takes some of the pressure off your back, making you more comfortable over all. You can get these from almost any store or online. Read reviews to find one that will be best for you.
Before you know it, your undies are going to feel snug around your tummy. Make sure you get some that are comfortable. There are many styles available, including ones that sit under your belly, or ones that come up over your belly. Whatever you do, just make sure you don’t order too small. Your belly will keep growing, and you don’t want to have to keep getting bigger sizes. Also, make sure you opt for cotton ones are they will help keep you from chaffing or infections because they dry faster.
This might be a better option for after baby is here, but it can be a lifesaver if your breasts start to grow earlier on. You want one that will be comfortable to sleep in, and not too restrictive. Also, make sure it is mostly cotton as it breaths easier.
A dress or two
Dresses are quick, comfortable and can help keep you cool in the warmer months. Find ones that don’t need any zippers or buttons to keep it extra comfortable. Maxi dresses, that you can toss over your head are always a win as they are soft, flowy, and aren’t restrictive.
You want to wait until as close to third trimester as you can because your breasts will keep growing, especially as your milk supply comes in. Everyone’s body changes at different times though, so as soon as your bras become uncomfortable, look for some new nursing/maternity bras. You might even be lucky and won’t have to buy any more after baby comes!
More items will come up as you need them, but this is a good start, to make sure you are comfortable and not too restrictive during your pregnancy. You’re already slightly uncomfortable with baby using your bladder as a pillow, you don’t want your clothes to make it worse.
