When you are expecting, if you have decided not to find out the gender until you give birth, it is can still be fun to try and guess. There are so many old wives tales that claim to tell you if it is a boy or a girl. If you want to read some of those signs, check out our previous posts:

In addition to the few mentioned here, there are so many more out there, but how many of these are just old wives tales, versus based on science? The answer is…not many. It’s still fun to test out the theories to see if you are right in the end though.

The ring test is one the easiest ways to guess what you are having. Take a ring and place it on the string of a necklace (or some people even use a strand of hair). Then lay down on your back and hold the ring still over your growing baby bump. If the ring sways from side to side it means you are having a boy. It is turns in a circle it means you are having a girl. I’ve done this test a few times, and have gotten different results but it is still some silly fun you can have with your partner.

The garlic test is one I have never tried, although I do love garlic. They say if you eat a lot of garlic, but never smell like it you are carrying a girl. I’m not sure how this test came to be, but if you love garlic now’s the time to test the theory.

Has your partner been eating for two like you? If your partner has been packing on the pounds, also known as sympathy weight, you could be carrying a girl!

One sign you might be having a boy is the mirror test. Look in the mirror for one minute. If your pupils are dilating, you could be pregnant with a boy.

The Chinese gender chart is the easiest way to tell if you are going to have a boy or girl. All you have to do is look at this chart to see if you bundle of joy will be a boy or a girl (link: https://www.todaysparent.com/pregnancy/chinese-gender-predictor/)

Try some of these and write down your results. It’s always fun to look back to see if any of them came true.
